OrgChart User Guide

The Parking Panel provides a storage area for records that are not linked to an org chart. These records are called orphan records.

The Parking Panel can be found on the Side Panels.

The Parking Panel allows you to search, move and delete Orphan records.

Searching Orphans

To search for an orphan enter any part of a name or title and then click on the search button. A list of all matches will be displayed in the Parking Panel.

Navigating Orphans

Some orphan are managers (). Double click on a manager to drill down to their subordinates. You can navigate up one level using the Up One Level button (or by clicking on the breadcrumb at the top of the orphan list).

Deleting Orphans

Use the Delete tool to deleted selected orphan(s) from the parking lot.

Adding Orphans from the Chart

Select the Move Box tool and then drag a box from the chart into the parking lot.

Moving an Orphans to the Chart

Click & drag record (in the parking lot) and then drag it over a box (in the chart). When you release the mouse, the record (and any subordinates) will be added to the chart. Green arrows indicate whether the record will be placed as a peer () or a subordinate ().

The parking lot can be used as follows:

• No hierarchy available in source data - If your import data that does not contain hierarchy fields (for example, your data only contains name and title fields), you can drag records from the parking lot into a chart. See Define Fields topic for more information.
• Incomplete hierarchy - If your import data contains an incomplete hierarchy (orphans records), you can drag orphans from the parking lot into a chart.
• If you are reorganizing a department, you can use the parking lot to temporarily store records as you determine where they should be placed in a chart.
