Overview

Predefined formulas are automatically added when you create or import a chart. You can create your own custom formulas as needed. See the Box Layout Editor topic for more information on how to display Formulas in chart boxes.

Predefined Formulas

The following predefined formulas are automatically added when you import a chart from external data:

  • Headcount - The total number of direct and indirect reports (including current box)
  • Subordinates - The total number of direct and indirect reports (NOT including current box)
  • Span of Control - A count of all direct reports
  • Orphan - Set to '0' for records that have are included in a chart. Set to '1' for records that are not included in a chart. See Parking Panel for more information on orphans
  • ReportsTo - The PersonID of a box's manager (based on the source data - will not change if the box is moved)
  • ReportsToName - Manager's name (calculated from the current chart)
  • SuperIDLookup - The PersonID of a box's manager (calculated from the current chart - for example, if boxes is manually moved)
  • Level - The chart level for a box (for example, Level 1 is the CEO, Level 2 is Vice President, etc.)
  • Subchart Level - The chart level calculated with respect to the subchart (e.g. Level 1 is the top box of the subchart)
  • TopOfSubChart - Set to '1' for records at the top of a subchart. Set to '0' for records are not at the top of a subchart. Can be used for conditional formatting.
  • ID - A system generated unique ID for each box (rarely used - except for manually created charts)
